UBI hires B Vivit, recipient of women’s mechanic scholarship

ASHLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — United Bicycle Institute has hired B Vivit, a graduate of the 2017 Quality Bicycle Products Women’s Mechanic Scholarship. Vivit is joining UBI’s team of instructors.

UBI said Vivit’s retail, writing, cycling and athletic backgrounds were all aspects that qualified her to join the team. Denise Sutphin, co-owner at UBI, said B’s enthusiasm for the sport and industry of cycling are what put her application a cut above.

“B is qualified and has skills – but when you add that to her passion and excitement for the material we present – and her ability to engage with students – we knew there was a place for her at UBI’s Ashland campus.”

Combined with her seven years of retail and management experience, Vivit has also studied frame building and welding processes at Laney College. She also has a background in creative writing at San Francisco State University.

Vivit said, “My experience and education in writing and editing are really helpful, and allowed me to start contributing to what UBI does from Day 1. I’m already helping fine-tune content and layout of manuals, and have started helping shape UBI’s Social Media channels …read more
