An overall good day and its only late afternoon! Sunny and 35 so I got a nice 1 hour bike ride in. Here are my vitals: AHR – 157, Max 173, Kcal 927, Distance 14.3, Ave speed 14.3, Ave cadence 85. I rode my normal route from my house which is typical northern West Virginia – hilly.
From a training perspective, I am wondering if I am riding too hard for foundation miles. On the other hand, I am not exactly starting out with a great level of fitness so maybe it doesn’t matter at this point. Or perhaps, maybe it matters more that I try to stay under heart rate ceilings…I don’t know – it is kind of confusing.
Anyway, it was nice to get outside and ride. On a positive note with the weight – this morning I weighed 222 lbs. This is the least I have weighed in 4 years. Several times in the last month I hit 223.5 but never below that mark so I am feeling pretty motivated going into the weekend to stay disciplined and not go crazy. This will be difficult especially on Super Bowl Sunday.
Training hours for this week were 7.5 hours. That might be the most that I have ridden in a week. This is going to be tougher than I thought.
