I never pretend to be a blogger of prolific performance, but I thought I put some more life observations out there from my point of view.
My point of view will get clearer, as new glasses are en route as I write this.
Work continues to be a grind of refurbishing rental bikes. My company is expanding into new retail sales of beach bikes. Sales have been slow going for the new bikes, but used rental cruisers seem to sold by groups of 4 several times a day. Thanksgiving was warm, and business was up. We’re taking in repairs in the off season for a bit more revenue.
My own riding is back on the trainer in front of the TV. This new house has a nice Carolina Room where I ride. Our new dog is getting along well, but has a chewing tendency.
We’ve set up our Christmas tree, but we forgot the garland. I’ve set out my little village, which includes a bike shop, and the usual decorations are out. The figurines are on the mantle, Christmas table cloth, special salt and pepper shakers, the poinsettias, stockings, and Christmas movies found and bought.
We seem to have a personal Christmas movie requirment: A Christmas Story, Muppet’s Christmas Carol, A Christmas Carol (1984), Charlie Brown Christmas, Donavan’s Reef, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000 (both on Blu-Ray), and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Top Gear is also a favorite these days. Yes, I seem to be a bit of a traitor to cycling, but the shows are funny. There is now an American version on History Channel. This past week they managed to bend a ’76 Cadillac Coupe de Ville upwards at the cowl to the point the doors wouldn’t open. The American version has a ways to go to catch up to the orginal UK version on BBC America.
